Empowering people vs. handouts

I listen to a podcast called Entreleadership. One of the podcasts highlighted a company called Fashionable (https://livefashionable.com/) . This company sells merchandise made by women in Ethiopia. So, the company is empowering women as they manufacture their products. I thought this was a great idea and see how Acts 2:42 Ministries is doing the same thing. Instead of just giving a handout, those needing financial assistance are required to work. This in turn provides the individual with dignity and a sense of purpose. It is way more fulfilling then just getting a check each month.
